Time Traveling Back to High School

As the world celebrates the class of 2020, my mind wandered back to my own high school graduation, over three decades ago. As luck would have it, I was cleaning up a bin of stuff recently, and found…

Is the White House Covid Story Legit?

They’ve given us zero reason to believe it

It was the video Trump released that sealed the deal for me: I don’t believe it. There’s no way Donald Trump is actually sick with covid-19, and I’m beginning to doubt the veracity of ANY of the recent announcements from the various members of the GOP who say they have it.

The timing is suspect. The quickness with which the story developed is suspect. That all the cases are in the GOP is suspect. But, above all else, the transparency shown by the White House in this, is extremely suspicious.

Who releases a video like that? Who thanks people for their support and announces they’re going to the hospital like that? It has the air and authenticity of propaganda. Trump, the master of distraction, is playing the media for fools.

It’s by now well reported that Trump showed up to the debate on Tuesday too late to be tested for covid. Chris Wallace stated that they relied on an “honor system” that each candidate would be tested by their own team.

Let’s face it, it’s a joke that the word “honor” would ever be used in conjunction with Donald Trump. A timeline (linked blow) posted by Derek Thompson of The Atlantic suggests that Trump should have or at the very least could have known he was sick before attending the debate, or at the very least, before attending ceremonies with multiple people in enclosed spaces.

It may seem possible knowing Trump’s penchant for downplaying the seriousness of the coronavirus, but honestly, I have a hard time believing his medical team would allow such blatant disregard for others.
