Flutter Firebase Integration

Step 1: Create a Firebase project

Before you can add Firebase to your Flutter app, you need to create a Firebase project to connect to your app.Open the Firebase console, and add a new project to add it in Flutter Application. Firstly give the Project name, and continue, that would create the Firebase Project.

Step 2: Register your app with Firebase

As Flutter Supports iOS and Android Both, you need to add Firebase in both module for Android and iOS, if you want to run your application on both Platform, but we are just adding Firebase for android module. In the center of the Firebase console’s project overview page, click the Android icon to launch the setup workflow. If you’ve already added an app to your Firebase project, click Add app to display the platform options.

After clicking on the android icon you will encounter a form.

You need to give data in the form.

A package name is sometimes referred to as an application ID.

You can find a package name in app/build.gradle.

Finally after completing all the steps form will look similar to

Now click the Register app. Our app is Registered in firebase.

Step 3: Add a Firebase configuration file
Click Download google-services.json to obtain your Firebase Android config file (google-services.json).

Remember you can download your Firebase Android config file again at any time.

Move your config file into the android/app directory of your Flutter app. Also make sure google-services is not appended with any character.

Step 4:Add Firebase SDK
To enable Firebase services in your Android app, add the google-services plugin to your Gradle files, as follows:

In your Project-level build.gradle (<project>/build.gradle):

add classpath ‘com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.3’

In your App-level build.gradle (<project>/<app-module>/build.gradle):

add apply plugin: ‘com.google.gms.google-services’

and implementation ‘com.google.firebase:firebase-analytics:17.2.2’

Open Flutter pubspec.yaml file in order add dependencies to use Firebase plugins. Paste the below lines in the dependencies

Hurrah! We have successfully integrated firebase in the flutter application.

Now you can build your Flutter application, and you can use the Firebase Services in your Flutter Application.
