How I got 100 Followers in Two Weeks!

Finally, my own success story!

Hey guys, I don’t know about you but these last two weeks were crazy for me!

Between working two jobs, picking up writing, and welcoming a baby on the way next month, I have absolutely no time for myself anymore! Which luckily, isn’t that bad since at least I go to sleep with a feeling of accomplishment.

One of my better accomplishments in the last two weeks I would say is getting my first 100 followers on Medium. Those who have elevated past this can remember the trying times when you start as a writer on Medium.

To make it worse, I wasn’t even a writer two weeks ago! It is literally a skill I just picked up and now I have 100 followers who have read my work and in some way have liked them.

One of the things I would say have helped me the most in this process is one thing and one thing only: READING.

Believe it or not, but the more you read, the higher chance you will know how to format your words when it is time to write your own story.

Reading a lot of books has shown me not only different styles of storytelling and writing but that every story deserves to be heard no matter how small you may think it is.

So even though I just started writing, it doesn’t feel entirely new to me as I like to read a lot in my spare time.

So back to how I made 100 followers in my first two weeks!

One of the biggest things I did that enabled me to get all of these followers in a short time is essentially, just being engaged with the community. Each day, before I start writing, I check my Medium notifications and look at writings by those who have just followed me.

If I like the article, I give some claps, follow them if I’m not already and if I really like it, I leave a comment. Leaving a comment seems to get the most attention out of what I just listed.
