The Future Through Robotics

At some point in our lives we have all imagined a world in the distant future. A world which is so futuristic and technologically advanced that robots did a majority of our tasks. Like how instead of having to make breakfast and do all your tedious household tasks, you could just have a robot complete them for you. The truth is that that age of advancement is here and it is happening now.

Robots are simply machines that are programmed to carry out a task. They use external inputs from sensors to change their outputs. Simple motors are used in order to provide them with the ability of motion making it possible to move. The keystones of a robot are that they are able to plan, sense and then act.

Robotics in the near future will be affecting all fields in the work industry. So far one of the biggest implementations of robotics was to healthcare. The field of healthcare is a hard job because doctors must be alert and on duty for a long time. The biggest advancement in healthcare would definitely be the surgical assistance robots which enable doctors to perform much more precise treatment.

In recent years there has also been a slow decline of nurses due to realization of the difficulties with this job. As a result some hospitals are implementing robots that are able to deliver medical supplies which makes their job easier. Another example is the advancement in the field of prosthetices. We are now able to produce limbs that are functional and pairing this with other technologies such as brain-machine interfaces, people will be able to have full control of these limbs.

Another new innovative impact is using robots to aid rescue operations. These are some of the most advanced robots which are both mobile and manipulative. Boston Dynamics is a company working hard on different robots such as Atlas and Spot. Their objectives are to rescue those in need and provide support. These robots make use of gyro sensors in order to keep balance and never fall and are also able to carry objects.

As we move forward, we are all aware of the rapid growth of new technologies that is soon to come. Robotics will be a major field which will allow humans the ability to do tasks more efficiently and eliminate some tedious tasks thanks to robots. Not only that, but with other innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and brain-machine interfaces we will be able create possibilities coming from our wildest dreams.
